Introducing the 天Tian (Heaven) Collection
These pieces refer to the first trigram in the Yi Jing, representing 天(tiān/heaven). They represent aspects of strength, action, creative energy, and the all encompassing energy of the cosmos. In this context, heaven refers to the things beyond our control—time, circumstances, or fate.
I made these pieces during a season of intense, ongoing violence against the Asian community. This series became about a determination to seek joy and levity, amidst deep sorrow, and I offer them as a prayer of healing for my community. May we continue to create with what 天 offers us.

Koleksi Batik
Featuring hand-carved sgraffito creatures of the diaspora, this collection was inspired by images from a Peranakan batik tapestry depicting both Chinese mythological and SE Asian regional creatures.
This collection draws inspiration from the artist’s Chinese Malaysian heritage and celebrates a culturally specific relationship to the natural world.
